The Way of Engaged Spirituality

Integrating the inner life with creating just and sustainable communities.

Michael Dallaire

I was born in April 1955, the third of four sons to Doreen Leblond and Maurice Dallaire. Born into a Canadian military family was in keeping with my ancestral Celtic roots for the frequent moves early in life prepared me for a life of peregrination—wandering—and the practice of engaged spirituality.

Engaged Spirtuality

Integrating the inner life with creating just and sustainable communities.

Engaged spirituality seeks to integrate the summons to an interior life with the summons to positive engagement in social, political, and environmental action.

The way of engaged spirituality attends to these two horizons of concern using the traditional method of ‘contemplation in action’ to chart a path.

Through our presence, our discernment, our engagement, and our reflection we grow in wholeness and holiness while supporting actions that benefit our communities as well.
